Three new items have been added to the Access 365 roadmap in the first half of May 2026.
1. Link Master Field and Link Child Field properties will be added to the property sheet for both comboboxes and listboxes with the rollout starting in Aug 2026.
This is welcome news. It will significantly simplify the process of linking these controls as code will be no longer required.
This will mean that cascading combo boxes (and listboxes) can be created without any code.
For more details how this is currently done using code, see my article: Cascading Combo Boxes
The screenshot below is taken from an early draft of the feature which was demonstrated at the Access DevCon conference in April 2026.
2. Rounded Corners in Access Form Controls
A new customisable CornerRadius property will be added making it possible to add rounded corners to form controls and allowing a softer, modern appearance. Rollout starts July 2026.
3. Zooming for Continuous & Popup Forms
The zooming feature will be extended to continuous forms (including Multiple-Items forms) and to popup forms.
The zoom slider range will also be changed to become 10% to 500%. Currently 50% to 500%
There is more still to come . . .
After some significant delays, two other major new features are now close to completion:
• The first phase of the new Zooming feature has already been rolled out to both Insider channels and will reach the Current Channel in mid/late May.
Additional functionality will be added in the coming months. For further details, see my article: Zooming Feature Now Rolling Out
• The maximum form/report width limit will be removed so that forms & reports can work well on large monitors. Rollout is now due to start in June 2026.
The screenshot below shows the updated roadmap entries for these existing items:
In addition, a new and much improved date / time picker was also demonstrated by the Access Team at DevCon in April 2026.
However, as yet, there is no information about when (or whether) this feature will become publicly available.
